What it does:

AudiencePoint’s Inbox Placement gives you actual subscriber behavior and precise data on whether your email is landing in the subscriber inbox or spam folder. We leverage real subscriber engagement data from 700+ million unique email addresses, going far beyond the limitations of seed lists and panel data.

How can you do that?

We analyze your subscribers’ responses to your emails and how they respond in our second party datapool. This analysis enables us to determine whether you’re reaching their Inbox or their Spam folder.

How is this different to existing inbox monitoring solutions?

Other solutions rely on either seed lists or panels to estimate your inbox placement and each has significant shortcomings, described below, that AudiencePoint Inbox Placement does not.

Seed lists work by adding a set of seed addresses to your deployment. The provider then looks at whether your email ended up in the Inbox or the Spam folder for those seeds. There are two major problems with seeds. The first is how few seed addresses there are, just a handful at each mailbox provider. The second is that ISPs use actual user behavior in their filtering decisions and seed addresses are not representative of your customers’ behavior. The result is that seeds provide highly unrepresentative and statistically insignificant insights.

Panels operate by individuals signing up to join the panel, often through incentives, and the company then monitoring inbox placement in their panel. The problem with panels is the vast majority of panel members are not your subscribers and so do not contribute any data for you. This problem is so big that panel data companies often augment their data by signing up their own seed addresses to your list with all the associated shortcomings of seeds.

Neither seed lists nor panel data provide subscriber-level intelligence. At best they provide directional deliverability information.

In contrast, by using the actual behavior of your own subscribers, AudiencePoint Inbox Placement is vastly more accurate and is uniquely able to identify the majority of subscribers that have marked your email as Spam enabling you to take corrective action.
