AudiencePoint Automations

A quick reference to the ways AudiencePoint can run your analyses automatically: what each type does, when it’s useful, and how to request one.

What an automation is

An analysis in AudiencePoint is a saved recipe: it defines which audience to look at, what to run (inbox placement, engagement scoring, address verification, and so on), where the underlying activity data comes from, and where the results are delivered.

An automation wraps a trigger around one of those saved analyses so it runs again on its own (when a file arrives, when scores change, or on a weekly schedule) instead of being run by hand each time.

Automations can be set up by the AudiencePoint team as part of your existing service. They aren’t self-serve today: you tell us what you’d like to automate (using the form linked below) and we configure it for you. This page is here so you know what’s possible and can request the right thing.

Already know what you need? Send an email to support@audiencepoint.com, and we’ll take it from there. Otherwise, read on to find the right fit.

How automations relate to your analyses

Automations sit on top of two things that are set up first:

  1. An integration: your connection to a data source (Klaviyo, HubSpot, an FTP, and so on). This is configured once, up front, and is where options like writing profile updates back to that platform are enabled.
  2. An analysis: a saved recipe, built on an integration, that defines which audience to look at, what to run, and where results are delivered.

An automation simply re-runs one of those analyses on a trigger. So the things that matter most, where the data comes from and where results go, are already decided by the analysis (and the integration beneath it), not by the automation. Depending on that setup, each run either updates profiles in your connected platform or returns a file to your FTP.

This is why the automation type is the same no matter which platform you use. The automation behaves identically; only the analysis underneath it differs.

The automation types

Score Change Tracking
  • What triggers it: Your analysis’s scores change when new data loads (typically twice per week).
  • Best for: When the integration type you are using doesn’t support profile updates, but you want to keep the connected audience’s scores continuously fresh.
  • Good to know: Fires only when incoming data actually changes scores.
Weekly Subscribers
  • What triggers it: The Weekly Subscribers list refreshes each week.
  • Best for: Tracking performance and the latest Audience Point metrics across everyone you sent to that week.
  • Good to know: The audience is dynamic, so its size varies week to week.
File Drop
  • What triggers it: A new file lands in your FTP or SFTP folder.
  • Best for: Re-scoring an externally supplied list that’s dropped on a schedule.
  • Good to know: Matches on a filename prefix you specify.

Need something more custom?

AudiencePoint also supports webhooks for more tailored or programmatic integrations. If that’s something you’re exploring, contact support and we’ll walk you through what’s possible.
